Unnamed Zero Carbonista’s wind-powered car still on the Go

May 5th, 2009

Yes, the wind-powered vehicle of Zero Carbonista is still unnamed, but Dale Vince and his team are still on the go of creating this innovative car magnanimo.

Dale Vince and his team, commissioned by Ecotricity, have this vision of empowering all vehicles in Britain by wind. Vince admitted that he is a speed aficionado and loves new and innovative technology, but he is deeply concerned with the state of the planet. He wished that all 30m cars in Britain to be driven by wind through a supplemented power of 3,000-10,000 turbines feeding electricity at its peak. According to him, this concept will save 25m tons of vehicle oil, and the total of 12% of all United Kingdom’s carbon emissions.

Zero Carbonista

Vince sits at the pedestal of Ecotricity, the seventh largest supplier of electricity in United Kingdom and is one of the most renowned and biggest construction firms of wind turbines in his country. With his superb achievements, he finally conceptualized wind-powered cars. He predicted that these cars will be seen glazing on the road within 20 years. These cars will be actually running by electricity that is created by wind-farms.

Waste-generated Waste Vans for Kirklees Council

February 24th, 2009

According to Kirklees Council in the UK, they have already begun operating their all-electric waste collection van. The better news about this all-electric van is that it also runs on power that’s generated by waste. The vehicle is an Edison which is based on the Ford transport platform. It is currently being supplied by Smith Electric Vehicles.

This electric van will be used to transport waste from 25 litter and recycling bins in Huddersfield town center. These wastes will be taken to the EfW (Energy from Waste) Plant along Emerald street in Huddersfield.

The recyclable items, on the other hand, will be driven to Kirklees’ recycling facility along the same street. They will be sorted at the Materials Recycling Facility before being reused.

Kirklees Green Waste Van

This operation is functioning smoothly because of partnerships with other companies. The 25 split-bins in the town center is supplied by Wybone Ltd. The bins have separate compartments for cans, plastic, and paper, and will be strategically positioned near food retailers and eating areas.

January 14th, 2009

An electric Dodge sports car, based on the ever so agile Lotus Europa. The Chrysler people are proud to say it’s their best-driving car ever, and seeing as it’s an English-built Lotus chassis I kind of believe them… ;-)

I love the look of this Electro Dodge. I love the orange and I love the fact that we’ll soon be racing cars that won’t kill our earth.
